I stepped into real consulting platforms to see what the market actually buys.
The signal was immediate.

Demand is strong – but not for audit.

What clients actively look for:
• Corporate finance
• FP&A
• Business cases
• Transformation, cost optimization, PMO
• Data, dashboards, automation

Audit and internal controls rarely appear as standalone asks.

The irony: all of this sits in my toolkit.
But if you ask me honestly what I want to do – my answer is still the same.

Audit. Internal controls.

I can enter projects through finance or transformation. That’s easy.
The real question is systemic:

Why is audit not demanded as a consulting service?

My hypothesis is simple and uncomfortable:
Audit is still sold as inspection, not as solution.
As compliance, not as clarity.
As control, not as a way to manage risk and money.

Maybe this is exactly the moment to repackage audit in the language of value.

Experiment continues.
Audit isn’t disappearing. It just needs to speak differently.
