On 18th March 2025, MCD workers brought two trucks or garbage and dumped all the commercial and residential waste in front of our gate. They explained that their Officer is visiting another location so they have transferred the waste here for one day, and will move it out the next day! This itself is unacceptable, as waste is not something that can be shuttled around like a file in a government department! The next day, instead of moving it out, they decided to come and SET the garbage ALIGHT! The fumes and flames have been burning for one week now as a continuous garbage dump fire, creating black noxious polluting cancerous smoke, vapours and worse. This is ILLEGAL and UNACCEPTABLE on multiple counts, breaking every law of the land.

This is an acute open garbage dumping situation right outside our gate in South Delhi, just short of Dera Morh on the main Chhatarpur road. There is rampant open garbage collection and dumping taking place, along with daily garbage burning taking place at Fatehpur Beri village on main Chhatarpur road, next to a large BSES electric transformer, threatening a larger electrical fire as well! Twice the transformer has actually caught fire this year alone!

We have found local SDMC sanitation workers as well as local village people from Fatehpur Beri dumping enormous amounts of food waste, garbage, biohazardous waste and even dead cows here, on the main Chhattarpur road.

This is a grievous public health hazard that is being created under the nose of SDMC local personnel, and no action is being taken. Garbage was burnt here yesterday as well, and the main Chhatarpur road here has been reduced to one car lane, due to the spilling over garbage!
