In this video, Jeremy Cioara offers his advice for how to study for the CCIE Lab. The practical portion and the written portion of the CCIE are completely different, and Jeremy Cioara offers the advice he wishes he'd received before he failed his CCIE the first two times.

The bottom line to the CCIE lab is that it's practical. So if what you're studying is focused on theory or specifics, find something else. Jeff Doyle's books are incredible, but they're not what you need to pass the CCIE lab. Look instead for practical training materials. They don't even have to be the most modern and contemporary books — OSPF and BGP haven't changed for decades, so old training materials aren't necessarily out-dated. Find and do all the practice labs you can get your hands on, but look for the ones that have explanations about why each answer is the right one. That way even if you don't know how to do the thing yet, you'll learn how to think it through and get to the right answer. Passing the CCIE lab is within your reach, but you need to be prepared and very well practiced with the right materials.
