Nishant Gupta M.D., MS, Associate Professor of Medicine and Director, Interstitial & Rare Lung Disease Program / Rare Lung Disease Clinic Network at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, presented "Spontaneous Pneumothorax: The Usual and the Unusual" at University of Louisville Department of Medicine Grand Rounds on March 7, 2019.

The talk focused on better recall of the clinical features, diagnosis and management of patients with primary spontaneous pneumothorax, recognizing the most prevalent rare genetic diseases that can lead to the development of a spontaneous pneumothorax, explaining the differences in the management of spontaneous pneumothoraces in the above categories, and appropriately screening for the presence of underlying rare diseases in patients presenting with a spontaneous pneumothorax.
