Gary Neville has been branded 'a hypocrite of the highest order' after speaking out against flying the Union Jack flag.

The former Manchester United defender sparked fury after claiming "middle-aged white men putting up Union Jacks" are dividing Britain in the wake of a terrorist attack at a synagogue in Manchester.

The Sky Sports pundit launched into a tirade on social media expressing his dismay at "division" in his home city after the Islamist attack - but turned his fire on "white men".

Speaking on GB News, commentator Adam Brooks said Neville: 'That man could leave this country tomorrow if it erupted. He's a hypocrite of the highest order.'
