Creek Scenery - Part 1

In this video, we begin work on the creek that passes under the tracks, just south (to the left) of the field we made recently. I scratchbuilt a culvert out of styrene and brass pipe, and had to dig some additional material out to make it work. I tied the area together roughly with Sculptamold, and added a slight hill beginning to create a scene to separate the yard tracks from the creek scene. I painted the stream bed, though I am not sold on the color yet, and added the initial layer of texture which includes some dirt along the creek edges and rip-rap around the culvert.

After incorporating my original shelf layout into the larger layout, the plan for completing my HO Scale Deepwater and Manchester Railroad has been to work Southbound (right to left), moving to the left as scenes are completed. The layout will be in several phases at once, keeping things fresh and interesting as I switch between them.
