Bachelor of Education popularly known as B.Ed course is 2 years mandatory course for becoming a teacher in higher primary and high schools in India. National Council for Teacher Education is a statutory body which regulates courses in teaching in India.

Graduates from any stream can join this course. While students from Arts Stream are trained to teach subjects like History, Civics, Geography and Languages. The students from Science Stream are trained to teach Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology.

What are the eligibility conditions to join B.Ed?
To be eligible to join B.Ed course of some reputed private or government education colleges candidates should have done graduation from any recognized university in any stream be it arts, science or commerce. Some reputed B.Ed colleges may also demand some minimum percentage of marks in graduation like 50% for General Category candidates and 45% for reserved category candidates.
