Perryville has been a long time favorite destination for trains on Amtrak's Northeast Corridor. Not only do you have the Perryville MARC station, but you also have the Susquehanna River Bridge, the Norfolk Southern Port Road Branch, as well as the CSX Philly Sub not far away. Back in 1999 AEM7s were pretty much all there was as far as Amtrak power (no Acelas yet). Occasionally you could see an E60 down here, but that was pretty rare (for me anyway). Another exception was the long distance trains, which at this time kept their diesel power between Philadelphia and Washington. Today the power swap is made in Washington.

On this November day in 1999 we see many of the usual Amtrak trains (look for the now-gone Fast Mail (train 13), which used to carry mail from Springfield, MA to Washington, DC). After a few hours at the station, I moved to the Havre de Grace side and caught a couple trains on the Susquehanna River Bridge. We wrap things up with an eastbound intermodal train on CSX and another brief stop back at the Perryville Station.
