PRAWNS STEW RECIPE
INGREDIENTS
1.Small prawns (chemmeen) ½ kg
2.Coconut oil 2 tbsp
3.Shallots julienned 1 cup
4.Garlic julienned 8 – 10
5.Ginger julienned 2” piece
6.Green chilli julienned 2 nos.
7.Salt to taste
8.Tamarind / Kudampuli/ Tomatoe to taste
9.Red chilli powder 1 – 1 ½ tbsp
10.Turmeric powder ½ tsp
11.Coriander powder 1 tsp
12.Coconut milk 1st ½ cup
13.Coconut milk 2nd 1 ½ cup
14.Fenugreek powder 2 pinch
15.Curry leaves 2 twigs
PREPARATION

1. Heat the oil , saute items 3, 4, 5 & 6 till transparent,
add salt, chilli, turmeric, coriander powders, a little curry
leaves etc, saute well, on slow fire.
2. Add the prawns, saute a little, then cook closed on slow
fire. Adding a little water, 5 to 7 mts, add the tamarind again.
3. Add the 2nd extract boil, followed by adding the first,
remove when hot.
4. Add fenugreek powder, a little more oil, the crushed curry
leaves, swirl and set aside.
