President Donald Trump Trump said today he's directing Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth to deploy troops to Portland, despite pushback from local officials. Susan Del Percio, Republican Strategist and MSNBC Political Analyst, and former Democratic Congressman Max Rose of New York join The Weekend: Primetime to discuss Trump's expanding crackdowns on U.S. cities, as well as Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth's urgent, in-person meeting with hundreds of U.S. generals from around the world next week. Rose says the Trump administration's approach to militarization and defense is "pitiful, sad, and only hurts our national security."
