The Roger Pirates were the crew of the late Pirate King, Gol D. Roger. They remain the only known crew to have ever reached Laugh Tale, the final island in the New World on the Grand Line. They encountered Vice Admiral Monkey D. Garp several times and were strong rivals to the Whitebeard Pirates.

This crew sailed throughout the Grand Line, and their exploits became the stuff of legend. They reached Skypiea and eventually made it to Laugh Tale aboard their ship, the Oro Jackson. Roger was the most famous figure of his time, while his first mate, Silvers Rayleigh, and his rival, Edward Newgate, were also widely renowned.

The crew is first introduced through Buggy, who recalls his days as an apprentice alongside Shanks in their crew. Roger, their captain, is the first character introduced in the series.
