Описание к видео Super Eagles Of Nigeria To Boycott AFCON Quarter-Final Against Algeria Over Unpaid Bonuses

The Nigerian Super Eagles Threaten Boycott of AFCON 2025 Quarter-Final Against Algeria Over Unpaid Bonuses

January 7, 2026 – Fes, Morocco
Nigeria's Super Eagles are in crisis mode just days before their crucial AFCON 2025 quarter-final clash against Algeria (scheduled for January 10 or 11 in Marrakech). Players and coaching staff have reportedly threatened to boycott training and delay travel to the match venue due to unpaid win bonuses from the tournament.
Reliable journalist Oluwashina Okeleji (BBC/Al Jazeera) broke the story, stating:
“Players and coaching staff of #Nigeria are waiting on #AFCON2025 bonus payments. Win bonuses from four matches - VS Tanzania, Sudan, Equatorial Guinea & Mozambique - remain unpaid. Super Eagles threaten not to travel to Marrakech for QF vs Algeria.”
The team has won all four group-stage matches, topping their group and advancing impressively, but the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has yet to settle the outstanding payments.

Key Details:
Unpaid Amounts: Win bonuses for the four group victories.
Actions: Players shunned training sessions and are refusing to board the flight to Marrakech until resolved.
History of Issues: This echoes past disputes, including a similar boycott in November 2025 over unpaid allowances ahead of World Cup qualifiers.

The NFF has not yet issued an official response, but urgent negotiations are reportedly underway to avert a full boycott that could embarrass Nigerian football on the continental stage.

Fans are furious online, calling for accountability from the federation amid the team's strong tournament run.
Story developing rapidly – resolution expected soon to avoid forfeiture.

Sources: Sahara Reporters, Pulse Sports, AllNigeriaSoccer, Oluwashina Okeleji reports (January 7, 2026).

Will the Eagles soar or stumble over internal drama? Thoughts? 👇🇳🇬🦅

How much the Super Eagles will earn as win-bonus at the 2025 AFCON in Morocco has now been revealed.

Each player will receive $30,000 after the Super Eagles qualified from the group stage of the tournament.

They are also entitled to an additional $12,500 each after they shot down Mozambique in the Round of 16.

Each player will pocket $15,000 should they stop Algeria and advance to the semifinal of the AFCON.

Victory in the semifinal against either hosts Morocco or Cameroon will fetch each player $17,500, while victory in the final will earn them $20,000 each.

The players are yet to receive any of these bonuses.

Nigeria’s Super Eagles have earned $80,000 in bonuses for their goal-scoring exploits at the ongoing 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) had pledged to pay the team $5,000 for each goal scored during the group stage of the competition.

Nigeria scored eight goals in their three group matches against Tanzania, Tunisia and Uganda, earning $40,000 from that phase.

The team received an additional $40,000 after netting four goals in their round-of-16 victory over Mozambique.

The Super Eagles will face Algeria in a quarter-final fixture at the Marrakesh Stadium on Saturday and are due to travel from Fès on Thursday.
