In the spring, when flowers begin to bloom, it’s time to head to Honeymoon Acres, in New Holstein. You’ll find thousands of cultivated and native garden species in every hue imaginable. The greenhouses are like Calumet County’s own botanic gardens!

During the summer, the flowers grow wild and paint Ledge View Nature Center’s prairie in bright colors. You can meander through the flora and get a bird’s-eye view from the observation tower.

You’ll also find unique artwork coloring the barns throughout Calumet County. Barn quilts pay homage to the region’s rich agricultural heritage; the designs and patterns are specific to each farmstead and have a colorful story to tell.
