If it looks like a duck, swims like a duck, and quacks like a duck, then it’s probably a duck. Many companies are calling themselves as DevOps fueled organizations and use DevOps as a transformative solution. DevOps is the mantra of many companies and can serve as a great branding technique to attract talents and promote changes, but are all these organizations proclaiming their devotion to DevOps really true DevOps organizations? Let’s have a look at the fake DevOps signs and traps from very different companies.

Spanish and mother of 2 cute little monsters, Cristina holds a Master in Computer Science. Throughout her career, she has worked as a programmer, project manager, director, VP of engineering and currently, she is working as a Senior Technical Executive Producer at IO Interactive. All this experience gives her a 360 view of what software development and technology are about. Most of her experiences are within the video game industry, but she has also worked in retail companies such as IKEA. She has been practicing Agile for more than 10 years, she became a certified scrum master back in 2010, and she is a firm believer in DevOps practices. Cris also engages in different volunteer initiatives and mentorship programs with the hope of making the world of technology more diverse, inclusive, and accessible.

Anca Iordanescu is VP Engineering, at IKEA Digital Group. In this role, Anca is leading, together with her team, the design and delivery of tech solutions to create stores of the future at IKEA. By bringing in agility, simplicity, standardization, cutting-edge technologies and data-driven decisions, she is transforming Ikea into a leader furnishing retailer with the aim to reach many more people with the products and services they want, whenever and wherever they want them.

To help develop the next generation of technologists and leaders, Anca is working with schools and universities to inspire and attract young women to join the tech world. She is representing Ikea as a keynote speaker at different tech events to attract talents.
