I Broke My 1968 Dodge Charger 383 Big Block Doing Dumb Stuff (Or Did I?)

I swear this isn't click bait. Well, alright, you caught me... it's not nearly as broken as I thought. But I was absolutely convinced I had done mechanical damage to the top end of the original 383 B engine under the hood of my 1968 Dodge Charger. I thought I was being challenged to a stoplight-to-stoplight competition by a modern Dart, and I wanted to show him who's boss. Yeah, I know a stock 383 and 3.23 gears isn't exactly a recipe for a streetlight drag machine, but it was worth a shot, right? There's a lesson in here somewhere. Anyway, after doing a big smokey sideways burnout (next to a Dart that accelerated like someone's grandma out for a Sunday drive,) the car wouldn't idle anymore and sounded terrible. So today I'd like to try and figure out what happened.
