In this video, we start by recapping what is meant by an isotope. We then look at how a mass spectrometer is used to determine both the mass and relative abundance of isotopes. We finish by looking at how to interpret a mass spectrum and I give you two mass spectra to interpret yourself.

This video is aimed at the UK A Level Chemistry specifications. Students studying International A Level Chemistry will need to check their specification.
