San Diego has a reputation for being one of the best places on the West Coast for ocean sports fishing and it has been said that it is the gateway to fishing adventures off California and Mexico. In this video I am going on my first fishing charter boat since I was a kid. I chose to book a 1/2 day pm trip through Seaforth Sportsfishing in Mission Bay. On this outing we are going just north to fish off La Jolla and we will be targeting calico bass and barracuda.

The captain took us right to were the fish were biting like crazy. The crew were all very nice, professional, knowledgable, and patient with even the newest anglers. Honestly, they were pretty busy considering everyone on the boat seemed to be catching fish. The crew helped me rig my pole and gave me pointers on catching fish with live bait.  I was impressed and had a great time on the New Seaforth.


If every Seaforth fishing experience is like this one, I’m hooked…pun intended. At the end of the adventure, they even filleted my catch for a small fee. I can’t wait to go again.
