So, in the last 2 days I played and recorded every one of his Cuban Dances. Yep, over 40 pieces, and I wanted to upload every single one of them as sheet music video. But then I thought, ehh, people will get over 40 videos at once in the subscriber thingie, that might upset some. So I probably do a long video where all pieces are inside. With proper timestamping this should be also logical. On the other hand, having every single one as separate video is also quite cool...

Ignacio Cervantes (Havana 1847 – Havana 1905) was a Cuban pianist and composer. He is sometimes referred to as "Cuban Chopin"...

A child prodigy, he was taught by pianist Juan Miguel Joval, later by composer and tutor Nicolás Ruiz Espadero in 1859, and by the visiting American composer Louis Moreau Gottschalk. Gottschalk encouraged Cervantes to study at the Conservatoire de Paris (1866–1870) under Antoine François Marmontel and Charles-Valentin Alkan, where he was awarded first prizes in composition (1866) and harmony (1867). Yep he studied under Alkan.. how cool is that. Cervantes wrote one opera (Maledetto, 1895), various chamber pieces (Scherzo cappricioso, 1885), zarzuelas, and the famous forty-one Danzas Cubanas. (ok so it's 41 pieces..)
His daughter who died less than 40 years ago, was a famous singer and well-known pianist, composer.
