Philippine Receives Final Batch Of Spyder Air Defense Systems

The Philippine Air Force (PAF) has officially received the third and final batch of the Spyder MR Ground-Based Air Defense Systems (GBADS). In this video, we take a closer look at the inspection of these newly delivered systems, led by MGen Fabian Pedregosa, Commander of the Air Defense Command. The Spyder MR GBADS, purchased from Israel’s Rafael Advanced Defense Systems under the AFP Modernization Program, plays a key role in strengthening the country’s air defense capabilities. This acquisition, worth PHP 6 billion, enhances the PAF’s ability to defend the nation’s airspace against modern aerial threats. The final delivery marks a significant milestone, and we are hopeful that future acquisitions will continue under the Re-Horizon 3 phase of the modernization plan.
