Описание к видео Peanut Butter Blossoms: History, Recipe, and Why We Still Bake Them

Peanut butter blossoms feel timeless, but they didn’t appear out of nowhere.

In this video, I’m baking classic peanut butter blossoms and tracing their history back to mid-20th-century America, when home baking, brand contests, and convenience foods quietly shaped what we still make today.

If you’ve ever wondered why this cookie looks the way it does, or why it became such a staple this one’s for you.

Below is the full recipe so you can bake along.

⸻

🍪 PEANUT BUTTER BLOSSOMS (CLASSIC RECIPE)

Ingredients
• ½ cup (1 stick) brown butter (slightly cooled)
• ½ cup granulated (plus extra for rolling)
• ½ cup packed brown sugar
• ½ cup creamy peanut butter
• 1 large egg
• 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
• 1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
• 1 teaspoon baking soda
• ¼ teaspoon salt
1/4 cup turbinado sugar
• Chocolate kisses, unwrapped

⸻

Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment.
2. Cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
3. Mix in the peanut butter, egg, and vanilla until smooth.
4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add to the wet ingredients.
5. Roll dough into 1-inch balls and roll in the turbinado + granulated sugar mixture.
6. Place on baking sheet about 2 inches apart.
7. Bake for 8–10 minutes, until puffed and lightly cracked.
8. Remove from oven and immediately press a chocolate kiss into the center of each cookie.
9. Let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes, then transfer to a rack to cool completely.
