This powerful video - directed by Luke O’Shea & Jay Seeney of Blacklist Productions - proudly features Afghanistan Veteran Lance-Corporal Lee Sarich who served in Afghanistan twice and was diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) after he was struck by an improvised explosive device (IED).

Lee has been brave enough to openly speak out about his very dark battles with PTSD and he still plays a vital role in helping other returned veterans feel understood and supported.

South East Queensland - written by Luke O’Shea, Mitchell Lyndham & Fred Smith - hopes to highlight and share just some of the intense experiences faced by many of our soldiers whilst serving in Afghanistan - so that we can better understand - so we can better support - so that these veterans do not feel so isolated upon returning.

The use of confronting soldier ‘head-cam’ footage is starkly and deliberately contrasted against a number of iconic and beautiful images of SE QLD - hoping to emphasise the confusion of trying to assimilate back into a blessed corner of the world.

1 out of 4 recruits into the Australian Defence Force herald from South East Queensland - it is hoped that as much money, time and effort that goes into training these young people - to become soldiers for their country - is reciprocated with supporting, counselling and rehabilitating them - when they attempt to return to a normal life after experiencing the horrors of war.

Lest We Forget those that are still with us - and are still fighting a very real enemy! Please know that you are appreciated - and that you are not alone!
