Design proposal for Integrated Development for Jyotiba Hill, Kolhapur by VK:a architecture

An exclusive look into VK:a's award-winning entry, the "Pillar of Spiritual Enlightenment," which got the second place in the Idea Competition For Integrated Development Plan for
providing Infrastructure facilities in and around Jotiba (Wadi Ratnagiri) Hill. This redesign of the revered pilgrimage destination focuses on enhancing accessibility for pilgrims while improving resilience of the site by redefining the hill slopes and edges. The 150ft high Pillar of Spiritual Enlightenment in Dakshin plaza acts as the focal point of the urban insert. A landscaped pedestrian street connects the lake park to Purva kinara, creating a wonderful canopied green zone that lends a sense of place and calmness to pilgrims coming to Jyotiba darshan scaling Jyotiba hill.
