Описание к видео Vimy Ridge: Craters of the Dead | History Traveler Episode 388

Battle of Arras: Part 4

One of the things that you'll see a lot of when you go to Vimy Ridge is craters. Lots of them. The mining operations along Vimy Ridge with the massive artillery bombardment left the ground permanently scarred. And as the dead were collected from the fields of battle, a unique purpose was found for some of these craters.
