To celebrate Roald Dahl Day, children's author, Mark Dorey, looks at Roald Dahl's Bogglingly Brilliant Story Hooks using one of Roald's most famous books, The BFG (The Big Friendly Giant). Mark then looks at the importance of the Story Hook for drawing the reader in, and how Roald Dahl used these techniques in his brilliant BFG book. Finally, Mark does some storytelling from his second Polly's Magic Bubbles book: Polly's Magic Bubbles - Revenge of the Spiders, to show how he also uses these same Story Hook techniques to draw his readers in and to keep them reading on!
