To be honest, when I started this project I never thought that it would turn out like this, because those old Korgs had 1990s written all over it. The X5DR and NS5R share a very similar version of the Ai2 engine with slightly different sample sets. However, the NS5R can load X5DR sounds, so of course I loaded my X5D soundset on it.
The NS5R does a great job at providing a solid base with a fat analog style kick and a warm bass, while the X5DR, having a faster processor, deals with all the more intense stuff that requires more automation and oscillators.

No samples and no individual external effects have been used. However, the post processing included heavy EQing (an 8 dB boost of the upper mids and highs) as well as the usual multiband compression and brickwall limiting. However, these didn't have a huge impact on the overall sound. It sounded fat from the source.

Also the name...should be obvious. I don't care for the dogs, it's just a game with words. Because Korg and all... ^^"
