To see God’s work in your life, you must invest in others.

Question: When has a friend shown up for you? How did it make you feel?

They came to him bringing a paralytic, carried by four of them. Since they were not able to bring him to Jesus because of the crowd, they removed the roof above him, and after digging through it, they lowered the mat on which the paralytic was lying. Mark 2:3-4

Real Friends...
put their friend first.
take risks for their friends good.
have faith that Jesus can heal.

Faith fuels our hope and empowers us to invest in others.
Now faith is the reality of what is hoped for, the proof of what is not seen. Hebrews 11:1

Seeing their faith, Jesus told the paralytic, “Son, your sins are forgiven.”
Mark 2:5

Faith from Real Friends makes a difference.

“Why does he speak like this? He’s blaspheming! Who can forgive sins but God alone?” Mark 2:7

But so that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins”—he told the paralytic— “I tell you: get up, take your mat, and go home.” Immediately he got up, took the mat, and went out in front of everyone. As a result, they were all astounded and gave glory to God, saying, “We have never seen anything like this!” Mark 2:10–12.
A Little Jesus might have just healed physically.
Jesus, the Son of Man, heals the way we need to be healed.

Take some risks
Invest in your friends.
A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for a difficult time. Proverbs 17:17

Invest in your enemies
Do not be conquered by evil, but conquer evil with good.
Romans 12:21

But If your enemy is hungry, feed him. If he is thirsty, give him something to drink. For in so doing you will be heaping fiery coals on his head. Romans 12:20

Act in Bold Faith
Faith is meant to be active and public.
When people believe that faith cannot be called into question, they reduce faith to a matter of personal convenience.
Norman Wirzba, Professor of Theology and Ecology at Duke University

Jesus can use our Church to bring healing to the community.
