Why Children Misbehave - Immature Verbal Communication.

Our children who have not yet developed mature verbal communication skills struggle to tell us what is happening to them. Because they can't write it down or explain it verbally. So they cry and they have tantrums because that's often the most effective tool of communication that they have.
Every behaviour of our children is them communicating something to us. Of course you must stop any dangerous behavior, but before you punish a child for a behaviour try to figure out what it is that they are trying to communicate to you. The last thing you want to do is punish your child because he or she was trying to tell you that they were having a problem.

They will eventually learn how to communicate effectively but at this point they need us to help them learn how to do so by almost deciphering what is happening to them when ever they display any behaviour.

Remember it's not the behavior. It's what's causing the behaviour. When we attend to the cause we solve the behaviour.
