Cruise anti-ship missiles have no chance to withstand Russian ships in the Black Sea.
Deliveries of cruise anti-ship missiles and anti-ship missile systems to the armament of Ukraine pose absolutely no threat to the Russian fleet. According to Russian military expert Yuri Knutov, the missiles will be destroyed by Russian warships before they can approach their targets at a dangerous distance.
Today, there is a real risk of supplying Ukraine with at least three types of cruise anti-ship missiles. Earlier it was reported that NATO planned to send Harpoon, Penguin and Blue Spear anti-ship missiles to Ukraine. Nevertheless, despite their rather long range (the Blue Spear missile is capable of hitting surface targets at distances of over 300 kilometers - ed.), these missiles will be easily detected and destroyed.
“Modern Russian frigates and corvettes successfully fight targets such as the Harpoon missile. Old Soviet ships did not always cope with such missions, not in the best way.- said Knutov.
According to the expert, the hopelessness of Western cruise anti-ship missiles is due to the fact that they fly at a sufficiently high altitude, as a result of which the process of their detection is greatly simplified.
At the moment, there are no official statements from the Ukrainian "partners" regarding the transfer of cruise anti-ship missiles to Kyiv.
