Are You Ready for God's Feast? The Word Exposed with Cardinal Luis Antonio Tagle (October 11, 2020)

Today is the Twenty-Eighth Sunday in
Ordinary Time. Jesus addresses the chief
priests once again in the Gospel, saying: a
king sent his servants to bring people to the
wedding feast of his son. The first group
refused the invitation, while the second
group assaulted the messengers. He sent
his servants a third time to invite whoever
they see on the streets.
Meeting his guests, he spotted a man not
in a wedding garment and asked him why
he was not properly clad. Not being able to
explain, he was thrown out of the banquet.
What does this tell us, brothers and
sisters? God has prepared everything for
us to celebrate with him, but we must do
our part. He offers a bountiful life in his
kingdom but we must strive to be worthy of
such an offer: repent and lead a life
pleasing to him.
