Venice Italy by train - What to see near Venice Train Station. (July 2020)

Venice Italy by train - We decided to take the train to Venice Italy for a day trip. We started at Bologna Centrale Train station. Bologna is one of Italy's main train hubs. All the high-speed train from Rome, Naples, Firenze, and Milan stop in Bologna. For this reason, this train station is a great place to start a trip to Venice Italy by train. The train ride is about one hour and 22 minutes and arrives at Venice Santa Lucia train station. This station is located right on the Grand Canal and it is the perfect spot to start your visit to Venice Italy. In front of the train station, you can find many Vaporetto stops. Vaporetto is the equivalent of a public bus in Venice.
The area near Venice Italy train station has many things to see. First of all the Jewish Ghetto. This was in fact the first ghetto in Italy. We will start our visit to the Jewish Museum of Venice. This museum explains the history of the Jewish community in the city.
The area near the train station of Venice Italy is called Cannareggio and here you can find many local restaurants and coffee shops away from the tourist spots.
From Venice Santa Lucia Train station you can walk to Piazza San Marco in approximately half an hour.

In March 2017, Rick and Andrea (confessed Travel Addicts) started a Facebook Group called Travel Addicts as a way to share their travel photos and videos not just with their own respective friend's lists – but with the world. Part of the reason was for bragging rights (I mean, that’s kind of the point of sharing photos, right?), but also to help answer questions to others about the destinations they have visited.

After inviting some of our friends and family, it grew and grew – and as of June 2019, the group has grown to over 200,000 members!
