School Vlog Episode 4.1

WHAT IS THE BASIS OF YOUR ARCHITECTURAL FORM ?

Editing your Initial Architectural Form

In this video the students tackle Modifying Architectural Form using three basic parameters: Sun, Wind and Views. They had three main set of goals to achieve:

1.) Propose a hypothetical section that will show their a proposed hypothetical program. Ideally, they use the architectural massing they submitted in the 3 previous episodes. But if they found it too complex, they were given the freedom to make it simpler and allow step number 2 do the magic.

2.) The form where their section was based from be carved or sculpted based on the following information: sun angle, wind direction and vistas. This may generate about 5 extra sheets of drawings but based on this video, many went beyond what was expected.

3.) Update the section and show how much they changed because of goal number 2: form modifications.

In the previous episodes we discussed the idea behind the form and tested how much the students understood their work. This time, we discover how they use information in modifying architectural form. Hope you guys enjoy it.

Stay tuned for Part 2

Note: I apologise for the inconsistency of lighting and audio quality. I am still experimenting with setup. Plus, I got really exhausted with my workload in practice and in the academe so I looked (and sounded) like a zombie in some (many) of the footages.
