Anyway, this is my Sebo X1, this one being one of the very first from 1991 in a fetching brown and cream colour scheme to match the commercial models of the time. The idea behind the X1 series was to bring commercial quality vacuuming to the domestic market. Almost 20 years later, the X series is still in production and has hardly changed, this is due to the legendary reputation for reliability and effectiveness.

One of the features of the X1 is it's computerised height adjustment and monitoring centre which was an incredibly advanced feature for 1991. The computer constantly checks the surface being vacuumed and adjusts the height of the cleaning head automatically by means of a small servo motor. It displays what its doing via a series of LED's on the front of the cleaner. It will also show if the brush roll is worn or obstructed and if the cleaner is clogged or the bag is full. It'll then shut the motor down until the problem is rectified. Clever
