BJ Griffin and Jason Brown studied classical music at James Madison University. Being from the same area, after their time in school they started playing music together outside of the classical realm. With their genre bending style, they can play anything from The Saint-Saens to Stevie Wonder. Both being singing instrumentalists the possibilities are endless.

As a singing cello player, BJ Griffin blends his backgrounds of classical cello and pop-r&b-funk vocals to create genre-bending musical messages full of passion and soul. Vocally, he has a timbre that is rivaled as a "young Stevie Wonder" with a technical prowess that makes for a perfect combination to captivate any audience. His original music is has a mixed feel of pop, punk, alternative and gospel-sometimes in the same song. JASON BROWN (@sillypianoguy)
Jason’s musical journey began in Virginia Beach at age nine when he started picking out familiar tunes by ear on the piano. His parents quickly enrolled him in piano lessons, and he fell in love with the instrument and with music in general. Although Jason was classically trained in piano performance and music theory, his teacher, a huge Beatles fan, also taught him to be well versed in pop and rock music. In high school, Jason attended the Governor's School for the Arts and kept up his pop chops by rocking out to oldies with his family. He continued to hone his craft at James Madison University, where he earned his bachelor's degree in music performance. Upon graduating, Jason quickly integrated into the local music scene. Currently, he enjoys passing along his joy and knowledge of music to the next generation as a teacher at Galaxy Music. Jason also accompanies several churches in the area and plays piano and keyboards with BJ Griffin both in a duo and in the five-piece band, BJ Griffin and the Galaxy Groove.
