Building Our Shipping Container Shed/Rainwater Roof - Part 4

Описание к видео Building Our Shipping Container Shed/Rainwater Roof - Part 4

We finish framing and installing the metal roof of our rainwater-catchment shipping container shed.

In this video, we install the furring strips and then the metal roof panels. We use metal roofing screws to attach the panels to the strips. The joists get cut to the appropriate length to the allow the shipping container door to fully open without hitting the shed roof.

The water-catchment shed roof is 35' x 12', with an area of 420 ft². With this size roof, we should be capturing over 260 gallons of rainwater for every 1" of rain. Based on last year's rainfall totals, that equates to over 10,400 gallons of fresh rainwater collected for the year.

In order to store the rainwater we catch, we will need to install the gutters and plumb the holding tanks.
