Rules of War (also known as International Humanitarian Law):
Protect those not fighting, such as civilians, medical personnel, and aid workers.
They protect those who can no longer fight - wounded soldiers and prisoners.
It is forbidden to attack civilians. Such attacks are a war crime.
Recognize the right of civilians to be protected from war dangers and receive the necessary assistance. Every precaution must be taken to protect themselves and their homes, and everything their survival depends on water sources, crops, livestock, etc.
Provide that the sick and wounded have the right to medical care, regardless of which side they belong.
They stipulate that doctors, medical transport, and hospitals cannot be attacked.
Prohibit torture and humiliating treatment of prisoners.
They stipulate that prisoners should receive food and water, as well as be able to communicate with loved ones.
Restrict the choice of types of weapons and tactics that can be used during the war. This is necessary to prevent unnecessary suffering.
It explicitly prohibits rape and other forms of sexual violence during armed conflicts.
