This video performance is a collaboration between Webb alumni, Webb faculty, and current student members of The Webb Schools Orchestra as a tribute to the VWS & WSC Classes of 2020; it was arranged, performed, recorded, and edited remotely in May 2020 (due to COVID-19 quarantine / coronavirus lockdown restrictions) for the high school's graduating seniors. “Lascia Ch’io Pianga” was composed by George F. Handel. Webb alumnus Ramsay L. Harris wrote lyrics to accompany the piece’s melody for The Webb School of California, titling it “The Farewell Song”. This instrumental rendition of “Lascia Ch’io Pianga” was arranged by Summer Swee-Singh for an 11-piece chamber orchestra.
Summer sends her gratitude to Laura Wensley, Ben Davis, Linda Silva, and all of the volunteer student members of Webb Schools Orchestra who participated in this project. Congratulations WSC & VWS 2020!
