Katrina reflects on the moment her father finally recognized the extent of her struggles after witnessing her behavior at home once all of her siblings moved out, which included sneaking into his room and stealing alcohol, painkillers, and money from him. He realized the depth of her pain and felt a desperate need to reclaim his daughter. Following Katrina’s hospitalization for a suicide attempt, her father emotionally broke down, pleading for the return of his sweet little girl. At that time, Katrina had lost all desire for life and found solace only in excessive drinking, reaching the point of blackouts. This self-destructive behavior served as her sole escape from the overwhelming mental and emotional burden she carried.
