Описание к видео What is a Flameout on a Pellet Grill? | Grilla Grills Explains How to Diagnose, Fix and Avoid Them

In this video Mark Graham explains what a Flameout is, and goes over some of the common causes of them. Watch to see how to diagnose a flameout, take care of the issue and finally avoid them in the future.

The best way to avoid a flameout is to keep your grill clean and to use high-quality fuel. Low-quality fuel and dirty burn pots are two of the most common causes of flameouts, so avoid them to lower your chances of seeing one.

All right guys, I want to take a second to explain a flameout. A flameout is something that can happen with basically about any pellet grill. And generally it happens when you're cooking, say below 225 or so, and the fire is really small. When you're cooking that low, things have to be right for the fire to be maintained. You have to have a clean hopper, you have to have a clean burn pot, you have to have good fuel (no sawdust). So what happens when you get a flameout, again, that fire basically just goes out. The computer senses it has dropped. It starts putting in more fuel and it doesn't know the fires out physically so it just keeps pumping in more fuel.

So what you'll find is when you open you get your ERL saying "hey something happened" when you open it all up you're gonna see this: a burn pot chuck full with pellets. This is why you don't want to start it, you want to check these things out. Because if you were to hit start again you're going to have all that fuel trying to re-light. It's going to smoke like crazy. It's not going to be a good situation.

So what you want to do in this case is take all this fuel out, vacuum everything out, make sure your hopper is clean, make sure the fuel is good, and that should take care of the issue. But again this is basically caused generally by cooking at the lower temps with dirty burn pot, dirty hopper, poor fuel quality, and it just can't have enough BTUs to maintain a fire between the rounds of pellets dropping on it. So just take care of the units. Generally, that should take care of it if not give us a call we'll be glad to help.
