The space economy has gone from niche to ubiquitous. European scale-ups like Argotec are seizing the moment. "We are doubling our numbers every year," CEO and founder, David Avino, tells fDi Intelligence's editor Jacopo Dettoni.

While the digital economy continues to drive space commercial applications, geopolitics and the soaring defence spending are opening new horizons for companies like Argotec, which produces and designs satellites. "Whenever you are talking about space, you are talking about dual applications: commercial and defence applications."

As the space economy becomes even more strategic, Europe has to keep investing to gain strategic autonomy, Avino argues.
