Amidst a global pandemic high school sweethearts, Shawn Pila and Kelly Green, move back to their hometown, get engaged and purchase a piece of property along the Big Island’s lush Hamakua Coast where they plan to build their dream home, and a farm. Watch this educational, step by step approach to farming in Hawai’i as these two lovebirds, their pet pig Humphrey and a group of expert farmer friends work to transform an overgrown lot into home sweet homestead. But no one said that the “farm life” would be easy and finding the balance between the daily grind and building a farm will have this young couple wondering if the juice is actually worth the squeeze.
