For the premiere episode of our brand new series #StreetsByAir, we feature an aerial perspective of what has become our citadel on the river.

Towering above Center Blvd. in the Hunters Point section of Queens, are massive residential high-rises, lining the street, attracting former Manhattan residents, Queens natives, and working commuters alike, looking for an alternative space of living, to the growing community that is #LIC.

With wonderful parklines like this one, Hunters Point visitors and inhabitants get to sit at the beginning end of geographical Long Island.

What was once an entryway of commerce for the island is now an attraction for families, children, friends, wedding photoshoots and dining experiences in the western end of the borough of Queens.

Gantry State Plaza Park boasts a continuous stretch of green, seating areas, parkspace, playgrounds, and even a beach volleyball court, over what used to be abandoned space.

With the 2nd phase of the park's southern end opened to the public, we see the developers and laborers hard at work, constructing new buildings, schools, and parks in a reviving portion of our city.
