In today's Monster Hobbies Age of Sigmar Battlefield, we ask "What's in the Box?" as we look at the Games Workshop Dispossessed Warden King With Great Axe. This is a model kit unboxing video that I hope you will enjoy!

Warden Kings are the most powerful fighters in the army, fell-handed warriors equipped with the finest arms and armor of the clan's weapon hoard. Upon their broad shoulders is carried the weight of untold debt - the inherited grudges of a long suffering and unforgiving race.

This Warden King model was sculpted around the time of 6th Edition Warhammer Fantasy in 2005 and originally cast in white metal (Later cast in Citadel Finecast Resin), this two-piece model kit allows the builder to construct one Duardin Warden King with Great Weapon.

The detail on this model is truly amazing. The helmet has nice wings on each side and includes a steel face shield. The armor is covered with highly detailed runes and includes grieves, chain mail and jewels. The runes and jewels continue on the axe head.

The model is sculpted with a lot of life to it and it isn't hard to imagine that the scene has a sort of comical side to it. This was typical of the sculpts of that time which follow a not-too-serious "Asterix and Obelisk" design for the army. This sculpt is quite menacing looking as the Dwarf Lord is preparing to swing the mighty axe with full force. .

The Dwarf Lord With Great Axe (as he was originally known) is molded in either white metal or grey resin plastic and is very beautifully sculpted. The attention to detail and overall execution of the model is exceptional and will look amazing on your battlefield.

The Dwarf Lord With Great Weapon model kit came out at the time when 6th Edition Warhammer Fantasy released and although these models are older and out of production in Warhammer : Age Of Sigmar, they are still playable in the present gaming system with their pitched battle profiles being re-added in the "Additional" section of the 2019 General's Handbook and the Warscrolls for outdated Games Workshop models can be found here : https://www.games-workshop.com/en-CA/... .
