The Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force demonstrates the capabilities of is ShinMaywa US-2 amphibious aircraft in a joint rescue exercise during Cope North 20, Feb. 25, 2020.

The ShinMaywa US-2 is a Japanese large STOL search and rescue amphibious aircraft designed for Air-Sea Rescue (ASR) work operated by the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force.

Exercise Cope North 20 is an annual U.S. Pacific Air Forces joint and combined, trilateral field training exercise with participants from the U.S. Air Force, U.S. Navy, U.S. Marine Corps, Japan Air Self-Defense Force, and Royal Australian Air Force conducted primarily at Andersen Air Force Base, Guam.

This year marks the first time the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force is bringing a US-2 ShinMaywa amphibious aircraft to incorporate personnel recover missions.

2020年2月25日、グアム :海上自衛隊のUS-2飛行艇によるコープ・ノース20共同救助演習中のデモンストレーション飛行。

コープ・ノース20演習は、主にグアム・アンダーセン空軍基地で行われる、米空軍、米海軍、米海兵隊、日本航空自衛隊、オーストラリア空軍による3ヶ国合同演習です。

今年は初めて海上自衛隊が新明和US-2水陸両用機を持ち込んで人員救助訓練が行われました。
