In a grand ceremony held at SLNS Shiksha in Poonewa, 271 recruits from the Sri Lanka Navy's 255th intake proudly completed their basic training on 28th September 2024. This intake included 211 recruits from the Regular Naval Force and 60 recruits from the Volunteer Naval Force. The event, filled with naval traditions, was graced by Rear Admiral Nishantha Peiris, Director General Operations, who served as the Chief Guest. At the invitation of Captain Ranga De Zoysa, Commandant of SLNS Shiksha, Rear Admiral Peiris honored top-performing recruits, acknowledging their remarkable achievements during training.
