iOptron Skyguider Pro Setup Tutorial

Описание к видео iOptron Skyguider Pro Setup Tutorial

Learn how to set up the iOptron Skyguider Pro tracking mount for Astrophotography. I take you through the assembly of the parts, focusing on the counterweighted setup, which in my view is the best one to use as it gives better balance and enables you to polar align as the last step meaning you're less likely to knock it out of alignment. I also cover camera setup, including settings, focus, wireless remote and dew heater fitting.

ERRATA: Between 14min 39sec and 15min 0 sec I mention the rule of 300/500. Please completely ignore this part of the video as this rule only applies when you are NOT tracking!! My apologies for this error. Instead, I suggest you start with 60-180 seconds exposure time but check for saturation and star roundness and adjust as appropriate. Reduce exposure time if bright areas are saturating and/or stars are not round. Increase if not saturating and stars are nice and round. If stars are not round with 60 seconds exposure time, check your polar alignment is good. You may also need to use Bulb mode, and not manual mode
