MG TD / TF Wheel Cylinder Replacement & fixing defects found in new parts

Today we’re replacing wheel cylinders on the MG TD we have in the shop which was a stalled restoration sitting for about 15 years. In our first look video of this car, we had discovered that even though the brake system had been replaced early in the original restoration process, since it was filled with brake fluid all these years, the wheel cylinders are now seized from corrosion and in need of replacement. As we walk you through the replacement process for the front and rear wheel cylinders, we discover a manufacturing defect on one of the new parts, unfortunately not an uncommon occurrence these days. Then show you how easy it is to correct the defect yourself instead of sending the part back and waiting for a replacement part that may still contain the same defect.

This wheel cylinder replacement process will also be identical for the MG TF and almost identical for the MGA.
