Another reveller, Thekla, admitted to occasional unease but insisted on not letting it deter her from joining in the festivities. Germany has faced several attacks recently, including attack on a Magdeburg Christmas market that killed six people. In January, an adult and a toddler were killed in a knife attack in the Bavarian town of Aschaffenburg.
