Ruined Creek Adventure

Описание к видео Ruined Creek Adventure

We found Quartz Creek back in 2020 during the pandemic. We fell in love with this little creek that gently flows into the Mackenzie River. The natural shade and unusually warm water. The 6 feet deep swimming hole and all the quartz and agate rocks your rock hounding heart could desire. It was perfect.

We have kept the location a secret for fear of others going and ruining it with trash and debris. We have always left it cleaner than we found it and it as been an oasis where we never are bothered. Where our boys could swim safely and we could enjoy time in nature, together.

After being violently ill for a week during a heat wave we decided to go to our little spot. IT WAS RUINED.

There was a fire that swept through the area some years ago and so for the loggers to get across the creek they tore down the old wooden bridge and made a longer concrete one. In doing so they took down all the natural shade, filled in the swimming hole and covered all the amazing rocks with round stone.

We are devastated by this. They said that they bought the land to conserve it and protect it but in doing so they wrecked the environment. The ecosystem. The peaceful tranquility that was our oasis.

We have yet to find a new and as perfect creek.
