On 16 February, 20-year-old Nepali student Prakriti Lamsal tragically ended her life in her hostel room at KIIT, Bhubaneswar. Allegations quickly emerged that she had been harassed and blackmailed by fellow student Advik Srivastava. Her death sparked widespread outrage, with over 500 Nepali students protesting on campus, demanding justice.

Meanwhile, Advik, accused of persistently harassing Prakriti, was arrested while allegedly attempting to flee.
