I bought an Okuma Nomad Pole mount with an extension. I wanted to see how it would work filming me fishing solo. I figured with the elevated angle I could film me, where I was casting and any fish jumps. I thought it would be more unique than the hat and other mounts.

I find the hat mount to be a little annoying. You have to be aware of how you angle your head and the field of view. Plus, even though they are light, you always know its attached to the bill of your cap.

I do like the perspective the Nomad gives you. I still have to work on positioning it correctly. The position in this video is too far off to the side and focuses too much on the water. I think it will work great if I position it more behind me and give myself more room to move without accidentally going off camera.

I used the Nomad with the 2' extension. There is no spike on it, so I used a surfcasting spike to hold it.

All in all, I really like the Nomad. I like the perspective and the ability to capture more in the shot.
